How to improve ACT score and timing?

Ok so I'm not the brightest individual on the June act I scored a 20. I got the same score on the october one to(I was studying for the sat most of the time and still scored low. I have taken 2 practice tests so far, and I got a 21 on both, and I even reviewed the incorrect answers on the first one. I realized that I run out of time on all of them. I always never complete the last passage on reading, run out of time and guess on about 20 on science, get up to about 40 questions on math, and 60 questions on English. For the people on here who score really high, what tips can you give to improve my score, especially on timing, next test is December 8

Practice scored today were
E:21
M:23
R:20
S:20

Any tips will be great

The more you practice w/ timed tests the better. I personally also run out of time with science and reading but not by much anymore. Do the first science passages quickly but accurately and only read the info when you need to. For reading, practice and do the 1st 2 reading passages a bit more quickly to stay on time.

Bump…

Are you taking practice tests all at once? Meaning, doing all four sections at one time? I think you should build up to that. Do two days of ONLY doing the English portion. Then spend a couple of days doing both English and Math. Then add in Reading (or do Reading and Science back to back if you don’t have enough tests). Then do three sections all at one time a couple of times and finally only do a couple of entire tests in true test mode of all four sections at one time. This will build your endurance. Do the last practice test a week before the actual test on a Saturday morning exactly as it would be on the following week. Just my $0.02.

My daughter improved 4 points by taking an ACT prep class with Appleton Learning and improved another 3 after private tutoring with one of their instructors. They use The Real ACT guide (the big red book) in conjunction with tips and techniques on taking the test. If you can afford it, I highly recommend a test prep class. Hoggirl is right about practicing the entire test on a Saturday morning.

Oct. 2011 = 18
June 2012 = 22 (after test prep group class)
Oct. 2012 = 25 (after 8 hours of private tutoring)

Good luck to you!
