How to improve my chances of getting into UNC Chapel Hill &NC State? Thanks!!

<p>Hey everyone! I go to a private catholic high school and it is a very rigorous school. I have a low gpa:3.06 and I am sophomore with one more semester of my sophomore year to go. I am in 2 adv. classes(Spanish and Geometry) and will be in honors world history( maybe honors chorus next year)

Also, you honestly sound very rude, I came for clear and constructive criticism," not as for what to improve, improve the things I said are not good - about everything". I have a tough upbringing( not complaining about it) so Im sorry I dont have a 5.00 like yourself, so the things you should improve is your attitude.</p>

you clearly asked “How can improve my chances?” and now you are saying you didn’t ask what to improve? And the reason I asked why you have so many threads is because what you wrote in the opening post is almost the same in all three of them. By the way, you can’t delete threads and you can’t edit it after one hour. What’s the problem with posting the additional information in a separate post in the same thread? </p>

<p>Black and in-state? Heck, you’ve got a pretty good chance now. You do need to get your grades up, but don’t get discouraged, you’ve still got lots of time to do that. Take more honors and AP classes. Also, get involved in more clubs and see if you can get a foreign language award. 201 volunteer hours in 1.5 years in spectacular; colleges love to see that. Seriously, though, you don’t know how much being black and in-state helps to get into UNC. NC State should be no problem. Good luck and Godbless.</p>

<p>I think you have a shot, though I’d definitely advise getting your grades up. Collegboard says most of those admitted to both schools are in the 3.7+ range. Tutoring and studying with friends are good ways to focus on doing better in class! Good luck!</p>
