Hi, everyone here can tell me some materials regarding improving spoken english? I am international student in US and now I found out that I encountered some obstacles on spoken english, I don't know how to make progress on my spoken english. it was stressful and frastruated for me to speak english.

So here, can tell me the approach with respect to better my spoken english? Any comments and suggestions are most welcome. Thanks!

Speak English with your family at home.

It's nothing too formal, but the extra practice should make a difference.

Go to the international student office and arrange for testing with someone in the ESL department. There may be a class that you can take on campus. If there isn't, see if you can take one at the nearest community college.

You also need to make friends with other students. They don't have to be native speakers, just people that you MUST use English to communicate with. These can be people in your department, in your residence hall, in any club on campus, etc. Ask the international student office and the ESL department if they have conversation groups, or if they can arrange a "language trade" with someone who wants to practice your language. In a "language trade" you would spend an hour speaking one language, and then another hour speaking the other language. This can be combined with an enjoyable activity like playing a board game or cards, or just strolling around campus.

If your problem is specifically pronunciation, rather than fluency, you will need to get specialized help. Accent reduction can be done, but it is very challenging and time-consuming. It is very very hard to do on your own.

Wishing you all the best.
