How to increasw your PSAT/SAT SCORE by 400 points?

Before you judge hear me out.
I will be a junior in the fall and I want to start prepping for SAT right now.
I took the PsAT this year and I got a 1060( stop judging) and my target acore is 1500 ( i know.
And before you comment

  1. O know it will take hours of preparation
  2. If I get aroumd 1400 I still be happy with my score, so I dont really need comments that state you should look for lower scores.
  3. I dont any naysers either
My Question : How many hours and months do I need to get the score I want

And sorry if that came off bitchy, but some people even for small and medicore things dont answer my question

Did you have time issues? Did you miss easy questions because of careless mistakes? Did you misunderstand the questions you got wrong? Bottom line is if your low scores are the result of unfamiliarity with the test format and questions, carelessness and time management, you can significantly increase your scores just by drilling and taking practice tests and sections in a timed setting. If on the other hand, you are having problems with the substance of the questions, it will be more difficult to bring up your score. Getting more schooling under your belt, especially in math will help. That should account for some natural increase by the time you take the SAT’s/ACT’s spring of junior year and fall of senior year. You will have the summer to prepare for the junior year PSAT. Make use of the free Khan Academy online tutorials. Purchase other prep books, starting with the one published by the College Board. Drill each section. Understand why your incorrect answers were wrong. Drill again. Write a schedule on which days you will go over certain sections and which days you will take full practice tests, and stick to it. Each time, it is critical to adhere to the time limits and then review and understand your mistakes. If your family is willing to make the investment and you need the structure and guidance of a tutor, that may be the road you need to go.

After you get back your junior year PSAT (or before if you felt as if you bombed it), determine if the ACT may be a better test for you. There are commercial tests out there that help indicate which one is more suitable for you. You can also take a practice ACT test or 2 to see if your scores are higher for that or the SAT. Choose one and drill to prepare for one of them in the spring of junior year and early fall of senior year if you don’t hit your target.

Did you prep for PSAT10? If you did not, I would recommend you to do an official test released by the college board, (khan academy has free sets, print them out and do it with a timer/answer sheet). Since your psat was done in October, you now have had six+ more months of learning (esp in math, and some reading too), see water you are at now. Then go to the SAT prep section on the CC as it has some good suggestions of books to use in addition to the official tests. Read and do the exercises in the recommended books daily, do the official tests weekly. Documenting and analyzing the mistakes from each tests. I don’t know whether you could achieve 1500, but I am sure you will see a nice jump on your test scores.
Good luck.

Thanks for the response and I I jave started the preparations. Such as plan in place. This summer I plan on studying a hour or more each day just for the sat and another hour for subject tests… I want to study for 3 or 4 months

I did get a prep book from the library( after researching ) and I want to get a job to buy the black prep book to increase my points even further. Hopefully it works

How much do you guys recommend study each day for the sat

Really depends on your study habits. Do you do better with fewer longer sessions or many shorter sessions. The main thing is to get organized and follow a schedule. I would recommend using weekend mornings (same time as the SAT is administered) to take timed practice tests. Work backwards in terms of the study guides you want to complete, allocating a section(s)/subsection(s) on specific dates.
