quick question. i am wondering who to contact and what the process is for trying to complete an internal transfer. im an admitted freshman for the class of 2013. thanks for any answers in advance :)

The only thing I’ve heard about transferring is that you have to talk to your counselor in Georgetown…so after you go to Georgetown and go through a semester or something and change majors or something like that?

I’d call the admissions office and ask. I heard it’s really really difficult to change schools.

Contact your admissions officer - they will be able to let you know what you need to do.

call the admissions office and see if there’s a way to transfer before the fall semester. If not, you’ll have to wait until after freshman year to do so (summer before sophomore year) i believe. It’s not that hard, just fill out a form, write a short essay about why, and they’ll look at your grades. I did it (College to NHS), and another friend did it (MSB to SFS).

How often does it happen that you can transfer into SFS? Tha ti s a hard school to get in to.

not sure how often it occurs, but my friend transferred from MSB into SFS (International Political Economy) with a sub 3.0 GPA. He made mistakes freshman year but had a strong fall of sophomore year semester, and transferred after that semester. Another person from my freshman floor transferred from MSB to SFS as well, don’t know his story (though he went into STIA). A guy I worked with transferred from NHS to SFS (STIA as well). I know at least 4 of us from my freshman floor that transferred into NHS from the College.

I think that is a popular strategy to get in to the SFS. Apply to a different school, and transfer in. Not sure what i think about that.

Why did you and your friends transfer to NHS and which major?
