Since earlier this summer I have been preparing myself to take the ACT one final time and unfortunately it doesn't look as good as I hoped. I've read through the prep books and been taking practice tests, yet I still score either the same score or lower (My highest score is a 20). What I noticed is that if I take the test untimed I score so much higher. I've been diagnosed with ADD but due to lack of medical insurance I've never been able to treat it throughout the years and I guess that is why it takes me so much time to finish one mere homework assignment. I'm just wondering if you guys have any tips or suggestions as far as keeping up with the time and staying focused. I really hate these kind of tests and I believe they are lessening my chances of getting into the schools I want to go to.

You should talk with your school counselor about getting more time to take the ACT as a legal “accomidation” due to your ADD diagnosis. I know someone who did this, and scored much higher with the extra time allowed. Good luck!
