how to not be nervous during test?

i took my first psat last year as a sophomore and i honestly was not nervous at all because i knew colleges would not even see my sophomore psat score. i went through it so easily and ended up with a 199 (68 crit, 700 math, 610 writ). i wasn't nervous at all and was able to concentrate well.

this year however, since i did well my sophomore year, i aimed for 220+ to qualify for the scholarship. but i knew that just a few mistakes could ruin everything. each time a difficult question came up i would die a little on the inside. i was so freaking nervous, i SWEAR i was shaking. my breath was coming short and i remember my face felt really red and hot. i couldn't concentrate AT ALL. god it was so horrible.

please, can anyone give me some tips? i was thinking of drinking a little beer or wine before the test, but that'll probably make my concentration worse, right? i never drank beer or wine before.

i seriously dread the day psat scores are released. i'm about 10000% sure my score dropped :( right after the test i was like praying for a fire in my school so all the answers sheets would be burned and we would all have to retake it lol.

Calm down and dont fret over the psat. Only a few people will get it and its really for monetary purpose.

What matters is the sat. I was also very nervous for my first one but after the first section I just thought in my head that its just another lame test and im just taking a practice one. I was able to really feel comftrable again. In the end it was true, its just a lame test. Just downplay the weight of the test. I mean after all its just a paper test that will vanish out of your life in a couple of weeks.

Thats what I did.
