How to organize a DBQ?

Yes, I'm seriously asking this the day before the test. I'm home right now trying to read the remaining 400 pgs of AMSCO (I already read it once but don't remember anything, lol) and take a practice test.

How do you organize a DBQ? I just don't understand it. My teacher never told me.

And I don't know anything FDR onward. Is there anything I can skip at this point? I'm currently reading about the Gold Rush and the Cattle Frontier. ch 16 AMSCO

Gilded Age?
Progressives? (I sort of know this)
Cold War?
Vietnam?
FDR's New Deal? (do you really need to know the stupid acronyms?)

And i heard there will surely be no info 1970 onwards. Is that true?

Thank you!

There are always 1-2 questions (maybe even 3-5 by now) questions about post-1970 America. If you know the answers to the following questions you should be fine

What were the effects of Keynesian economic polidies during the 1970s?
What were the fastest growing regions and ethnic groups during the 80s-90s?
What was Carter’s biggest failure?
What were Reagan’s most significant domestic and internationial achievements?
American political culture has become more or less polarized?
What regions completed shifts in allegiances during the 70s-90s period?
