Hi! I am interested in applying to lots of HS summer programs at schools such as Harvard, Stanford and Georgetown. The price tag on these programs is between 8k-13k and if I were to get in I would have no way of paying for them. Does anyone know of prestigious summer programs with really good financial aid OR groups that give large scholarships for high schoolers? I know that Quest Bridge has a college prep scholarship but it is extremely competitive and I just want to know if there are other options.

There are many prestigious programs (E.G. Telluride/TASP) which are tuition free. The rest are a bit of a scam with very few benefits. You will not get into Harvard or Notre Dame because your parents forked over big bucks so you might attend their summer “leadership conference” or “Global studies summer seminar”. Here are some things you are better off doing:
1) Get a job. A real job. At McDonalds or KFC etc. If you are from a low income family, it is expected that you will do something to alleviate that situation.
2) Apply to volunteer/intern at your local hospital, lab, courthouse etc.

@Olipond thank you for your response!

The Joyce Ivy Foundation also has a scholarship available for summer programs that is not as competitive as the Quest Bridge Scholarship

Summer@Brown’s Dean’s scholarship.
