How to Self-Study USH SAT II?

Hello, I’m a rising senior, and after some guidance from the CC community, I decided that I am going to take the US History SAT II in the fall. I needed a third subject test, and I think that this is my best shot at getting a good score. Anyway, I took US history during freshmen year (I haven’t taken APUSH), but in order to do well I know I’m going to need to relearn A LOT and memorize A LOT of new information. What is/are the best source(s) in order to get all the knowledge I will need to do well on the subject test? I’m fine with getting textbooks and review books as long as they will help me do well.

By the way, if this sounds like a stupid idea, please tell me; I could always try to study for lit, spanish, or bio (but I haven’t take the AP in any of those classes and haven’t gotten high scores on lit on practice tests).

Thanks and have a good summer!

But also Im pretty sure Im just going to self-study for Biology instead because if I remember correctly, there is a sh*t ton of stuff to know for this test

I’m in the same boat as you. Unfortunately, it seems that there is a ton of information for the US History Subject Test that I’m reconsidering taking that test. However, if we can come up with a plan to work together to study, I may change my mind! HMU

I agree with you @onemorechanceplz. I think I’m just going to take the bio subject test because there is less information to memorize and I remember way more from that class. Also, I’ve heard of people who got really high scores (750+) on bio from just the Barron’s and PR review book, but even people in APUSH can’t get those same scores on the USH test.

wow that sucks. PM me ryan

@ryanordy88 @onemorechanceplz I’m in the same boat as you two! My school is IB so almost none of my classes have prepared me for these tests. I’ve been learning US history for the past few weeks and it has been more manageable than I expected. However, I might also add in biology because I’ve heard the same things. Have you guys decided?

@navyblue18 I am deciding to self-study for the biology subject test because I am just better at memorizing science than history. Someone on CC said that they bought the Barrons and PR review books for biology, memorized them, and then got an 800 on the test. You might want to study for USH, bio, or both depending on what your strengths are.
