My DS submitted his EA applications using common application on Nov1st. Today, he just found out results of a national competition that he competed in last month. Should he share the new information with the school? if so, what is the best way to do so?

Same thing here. I called two of d’s schools (admissions office) and asked: both wanted the updated information. One requested me to mail it to them and the other said by mail or fax.

DS sent a letter to his admissions person at each college - took about an hour but that way they had a paper document rather than an email that might get lost - he provided a copy of the award certificate.

Really you should call, every school seemed to want something different. The two EA schools my son applied to actually sent us a letter asking for updates when they deferred him to the regular round.

D also sent a letter to each school she applied to. Just put something at the top like - “Information received since application was submitted”
