I'm applying to Trinity College and to some other liberal arts colleges as a transfer student. All colleges will read my common app essay, so I can't be too specific about a certain college on that essay. However, Trinity does not require a supplement to the common app, where I could show my interest and why I wanna go to Trinity in particular. As a international student, I'm not able to visit the college right now and they don't offer interviews to international transfer students either. Does anybody know if there is any other way that I can show my interest to Trinity College? Thanks!

U can email the admissions office and tell them what you like so much about trinity(for eg, beautiful campus, social life etc.) and why you want to be a part of the college.

Thank you. I’ll email them this week!

I recommend writing an admissions supplemental letter to tell how interested you are that definitely helped me. A letter is more formal than an email.

Did you also apply as a transfer student? Did you just write the letter and point out what about trinity attracted to you or did you write it in an essay format ( strong introduction, etc) ?

No, I am going to be a freshman there. I wrote it in essay format my letter was not that long it only was three paragraphs but I did have an intro, I started out by talking about my visit and what I liked about the campus etc, then I talked about their neuroscience program, and I talked about Trinity being a NESCAC school which was important to me since I want to run track and field there. So basically just talk about what attracted you to Trinity and why you like it.

Sorry about the amount of questions, but did you tell them before that you were going to send them a supplemental letter, or did you just write it and email them? Did they write you back telling you they were going to consider your essay? Thanks!

No worries it’s fine but no I just brought the letter to them when I was going for an interview and handed it to admissions. Someone recommended for me to do it so I did and I believe it helped.

Basically I haven’t sent any such email/letter, but this doesn’t mean that I am not interested in Trinity. I have never known that I can do such a thing. So do all the applicants send such a letter? Are all those guys who show interest in this way get accepted?

I don’t know if all of the applicants send a supplemental letter, but someone recommended that I did it. I have no idea if everyone who does it gets accepted but I believe that it helped me. I mean the more interest you show to the school can’t hurt you.
