I am very well qualified for financial aid (way under 50K, many dependents) and am a strong applicant in both academics and extracurriculars (not going to list here). I have been told multiple times to stress the low income part of my application, but am not sure how to without complaining about financial hardships. I don't think colleges see the financial aid part until after they accept/reject (need-blind admissions, right?) and was wondering how I can work this into my essays without being a whiner/downer? I feel that being low income has been a significant obstacle I've overcome many times; the experiences have definitely molded me as a person, and caused me to pursue things I wouldn't have otherwise had to.

If anyone has any advice, I would truly appreciate it!
