How to study for SAT 2 USH

I have the Kaplan and Amsco prep book. I was wondering if you guys could recommend to me how to study effectively using these two books
Thanks

i found it helpful to look through my book the night before( I studied a lot prior to that night though too lol), but some of the stuff I reviewed that night was new info for me and a few things stuck and were actually q's on the test. Also take some practice tests so you're familiar with the test format/types of q's/ and time. Good luck!

What I learned is that while most people say the SAT I's aren't "crammable," the SAT II's definitely are. After the AP on the fifth, I was like..."Crap, if I do that badly tomorrow I'm screwed." So after school, my Kaplan Subject Test prep book and I went to the park (yes the park) and I sat on a bench, reading verbatim the entire book. I started running out of time, but all in all, after school I studied about 3-4 hours of American history. I came out of Saturday pretty confident, so I think it paid off.

Oh, and one more thing - don't just pay attention to "cause and effect" things, so to speak. You need to know SPECIFICS, as in "Who wrote the House of Mirth? Who founded the American Antislavery Society? Who was the head of the hippies?" You need to know very specific things, and make sure you know general time periods, because some of the inferring questions depend on your knowledge of what happened during a range of years (you don't need to know exactly what happened; a general idea would be fine because you could infer the rest).

Make sure you get a good night's sleep and good luck!

Do you guys have any advice on how to self-study this course after not having taken it this year?

Kaplan's book is good, but you need to learn from as many sources as possible. I'd have recommended that ...you take a course :)

laughs Use Kaplan and I recommend REA for details...

If you are willing to read through 600 pages before the SAT IIs, I am willing to give you my notes.

(also look for AP notes on google) Those should work!

earthdragon, I wouldn't mind lol
could you send them to my e-mail: navyseal2413 AT. gmail DOT. com

Oh, Earth-dragon, that is so kind of you. I am really willing to look at your notes because I am an inter student who has limited knowledge of US His but intend to take it this Oct. I must start studyin it right away. Can you email it to me ? My email is : pygmalion2911@yahoo.com
Thanks in advance ! ;)

so you recommend studying from more than one book?

yeah, everyboday advises so. Where is Earth-dragon these days ? :D
