How to study Nursing in the US when I already have a UK bachelors degree?

Hi everyone!
I am a UK student who holds a UK Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science degree (BSc Hons) and I would like to study Nursing in California. I fell in love with California after a trip and since then I have wanted to study there.

Unfortunately, I am finding the applications process very confusing. I am unsure what route to go down as I already have a bachelor’s degree and am not a typical “straight out of secondary school” applicant. A lot of colleges will not accept freshmen if they already have bachelor’s degrees, so I have considered going to community college first and then transferring to a 4-year university to complete a bachelor’s in Nursing, although again, I am unsure if I am allowed to transfer onto a bachelor’s at a 4 year institution with an existing bachelors.

The best option for me would be entering onto a nursing masters program. These do exist, however I have been told I need certain pre-requisites for these. As far as I can tell, the classes I took on my UK bachelor’s are non transferable, so I would have to take these pre-reqs at a US college, however visas are not issued to those completing pre-requisites.

I am just very confused. Sorry for the long post!

I wondered whether anyone has had experience applying to US Nursing school, or US college in general with an existing UK bachelor’s degree?
How did you do it?
