I’m going into engineering, and I’m worried about not being able to use the laboratories and facilities and stuff on campus due to the pandemic. How should I mention their resources in the why us essay if there’s a good chance I won’t be going there physically for a good amount of time?

By next fall access to facilities will likely be much greater than it is now. And if it hasn’t returned to pre-pandemic levels, it likely will be moving steadily in that direction. So if you’re discussing campus resources in the application, I’d ignore the pandemic entirely.

Agree with the other commenter- I am personally writing like the pandemic isn’t an issue (even though it clearly is) since that’s how I would utilize their resources to their fullest potential!

Agree with above. But why talk about their facilities at all. They know what they have. If anything like a one liner about that. Talk about what you want to do on campus and with engineering. Want to combine engineering and business then industrial is for you. Want to join or start a club on some tech you like? How will the university see you as a student and how will you become part of their community… Regardless of virus or where you will be studying.
