I sent an online request to my two teacher recs, and one said he did it, and the other said he was going to, but hasn't answered up yet, so I'm not sure if he's finished or not.

Is there anyway to tell online if they've done it or not? A checkmark? A "complete" or something? Right now, the school forms page looks exactly like it did when I invited them.

On the School Forms page of the CommonApp, select the college at the top of the page and scroll down to the red box labeled with the school name. Under the date you assigned each recommender, you should see “Not Started” or “In Progress” or “Complete” (or something along those lines).

I suggest you go to that teacher and ask them nicely if they know when they will be done writing your recommendation as you are in the process of collecting all the necessary paperwork for your application(s).
Be polite and make a good impression! :D

Daisie, So can a student first request a teacher fill in the rec from the supplement page and then assign that teacher’s rec to each school they want that rec to go to and then see the status there for that college?

For that matter, can’t you see the teacher rec status from just the supplement forms section?
It would seem that the teacher rec status should be independent of any college selected.

Before you gently ask your teacher if or when he will be done with your letter, remind yourself of the deadline. The earliest deadline a college can have is October 15, though a college can invite applications before that date, and many rolling colleges do. Otherwise, keep in mind how much your teachers have to do. Most will use the deadlines to help them prioritize.
