One of my recommendation reference writers was assigned in October and still has "not started" as her status...should I be worried? I am applying RD to all my schools on CommonApp. Granted, I haven't brought the subject up again, but should I send her an email or personally visit, or wait another week before doing so?

Also she may have done them by paper since I gave her envelopes but also assigned her online...so that may be ambiguous...is there any way to find out if she has in fact done it and chose to mail it instead of doing it online?

ok so after asking it turns out that she has not started…
new question: when are teacher recommendations officially “due”? is it the same date as the application for commonapp (1/1 for many of my schools), or can they be turned in later?

My d’s guidance counselor said not to worry if teacher recs are a week or so late. If she hasn’t done it by the end of next week, you may want to start making some noise. Also, your colleges will contact you if something is missing from your file.
