How to transfer from Community College?

Hi there. I'm really confused about transferring, and I'm hoping somebody can help.

I'm currently attending a community college and have so far only been able to take a few classes due to financial restraints. Those were a couple literature classes and a writing one, all of which I got A's in. However, I've decided that I want to transfer to a university to study aerospace engineering, and I'd like to study in Germany.

The problem is, my counseling department has been entirely unhelpful and has basically told me they have no idea about transferring anywhere outside of my state. The degrees offered by the CC are geared towards transferring to one of a few universities and my school offers very few classes (none related to engineering).

I'm planning on taking Calculus, Calculus based physics, and chemistry this next term and then probably biology via CLEP testing. There's also the option of dual enrollment at a nearby university that could possibly allow me to take some engineering classes, but it's very expensive, and I have no idea what I should be taking.

So what I would really appreciate help with is this:

If I want to transfer to a university to study aerospace engineering, what should I have on my transcript before going? I know most universities have you take some sort of intro to engineering course first, and since I want to transfer to Germany, I'm wary of spending money on classes that mostly likely won't transfer (I doubt they care if I take Native American history for example). Or really, what would I need to take for my first couple years as an engineering student?

I get really good grades and am very active at the school, have good SAT scores, etc. I also study programming, robotics, and work on mechanical projects on my own. So I'm not worried about that. I'm just worried about having an impressive transcript rather than a few English classes.

Any advice would be so greatly appreciated.

I should also probably mention that I'm unable to receive any financial aid and my parents aren't willing to help at all, so if you know a way to go about this that would be cheapest, that'd be helpful, as this is all coming out of my own pocket.

I just transferred from a local CC to a nearby 4 year school for engineering, so I can tell you a little about my experience.

I never even spoke with the counseling dept at my CC because they were useless in my previous experiences. Most of the information I got was from the website of the school I wanted to transfer to, I also did visit them once to ask some questions just before I applied. I chose my classes based on the transfer requirements to enter their school of engineering. I am not sure what schools you are thinking of, but for me the list was here:

http://www.engin.umich.edu/college/admissions/undergrad/transfer/requirements

The requirements are likely similar at your target school, so your next semester looks good. Getting moving on Math is the most important as most schools will require Calc I, Calc II, Calc III, and Diff EQ. Linear Algebra seems to be hit or miss depending on the school / major but regardless math is progressive and takes some time to complete.

Long story short, ask google something like “[target school name] engineering transfer requirements”

After I was almost done with the prerequisites, I filled out an application to the school I wanted to transfer to and simply went down to my CC’s registration office and filled out the form to have my transcripts sent (putting the address listed on my target schools website). A few months later, I recieved my admissions decision. Not much else to it.

As for money, I know my CC offered educational “stipends” for students willing to help help out around campus. Something like this:

<a href=“Become a Student Ambassador! | OAKLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE SPIRIT”>http://oaklandcc.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/2014/06/04/become-a-student-ambassador/

Ask around, yours likely has similar programs. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps.

I googled and found:
