How to TRANSFER from Penn CAS/SEAS into Wharton: PENN STUDENTS please help

It's been my goal to work in finance/I-Banking for a while, and currently, I'm probably going to be choosing Penn CAS, studying economics.

Of course, like many, I have dreams of either:

1) Transferring into Wharton or
2) Pursuing a dual degree between CAS and Wharton

There are so many factors that go into the transfer/dual degree application, but I'd like to ask you guys (and preferably Penn students):

1) Do transfer applicants and dual degree applicants generally need a 4.0 to have solid chances? How hard is this (e.g. through hard work alone, is this possible?) I've been a top student throughout a mediocre public high school, so how much harder is succeeding in Penn?

2) What factors do they look for business interest? Should I take finance courses in Wharton, perhaps?

3) Ultimately, what is the success rate for transfer and dual degree, and which is easier? Please be honest...so many people have given me so many different answers...is it really as competitive and challenging as people make it out to be?

4) If I maintain a 3.8/3.9, are my chances very good? MOST IMPORTANTLY: What courses are good for high grades and which professors are great for generous grading?

6) EVEN IF my Wharton dreams don't materialize, do I have good recruiting prospects being a CAS economics student with a 3.8-4.0??

THANK YOU!

I need some serious answers please. Please, no BS or trolling.

I’ve heard that pretty much all you need to do is get a 3.7+ and jump through some hoops.

Also…a 3.8-4.0 gpa would be ridiculous 0.0

do the dual degree. it seem easier than transferring into wharton. same thing, just more work

The requirements for transferring into Wharton and getting into the dual-degree program (CAS + Wharton) are EXACTLY THE SAME. This is because in both cases, you are trying to get into Wharton. Whether you keep your degree in CAS is up to you. You can drop it (and be just Wharton) or keep it (and be a dual-degree student).

Your GPA needs to be pretty high. In 2007, the GPA cutoff was around 3.80. Getting a 3.70 is usually not enough.

Here are the full requirements from Wharton’s website:
