I've looked through the website and I noticed that a lot of the "essay" questions were about how there essay will be graded; I want to know if there is a thread on how to write a "perfect essay" (or at least a strong one). If there is one, can somebody just post the title and I can search for, but if not can someone make one?

Personally, I just want to be prepared for the essay, I did horrible on the Sat essay because I didn't really prepare for it so hopefully you guys at cc can give me some strong advice for the ACT. Thanks.

The ACT essay will ask you to pick a side in an argument and argue your case. They are usually school or community related and are extremely boring to write about. Make sure you provide examples and mention the “other” side- the side that you are arguing AGAINST. Connect your essay to the world also- like making connections.

They can be very picky, and I’m not exactly sure what they are looking for either. I didnt get at least a 7 on my real ACT writing… may have been my hand writing.

I got a 25 on my ACT writing. My subscore was an 8 out of 12. If you just argue your point to the best of your ability, then you should be able to score high. Give the ACT readers a reason to believe your point of view. And be sure to have a sharp, reliable pencil.
