How much different is a ACT essay graded compared to an SAT essay? I mean for one the prompts are more specific and it seems harder to pull out history/literature examples for some of them? Any help? This is my first time taking the ACT as you can probably tell.

For the ACT, you really don’t have to use any literary or history examples. Just write a standard five paragraph essay- intro, bodies, conclusion. You need to stay on topic (obviously), use good diction, and make the essay lengthy.

but, you do need to use clear examples and counter-examples. google sparknotes ACT essay–they have a really helpful explanation of how to write one.
good luck!

how long should it be?how many pages should it be?(to get a 12 :P)

If you’re concerned about length, I’d aim for two pages.
