How was AP Euro

I dont remember exactgly what i put but i put something relating to the fact that intelligence was valued and that children were smart or something. I also POV-ed that one saying that even thought it was like five years after the proper ending of the rennassance in 1527, the father would say that because intelligence was valued during the times of the rennaissance and the document seemed to be praising the child for being so smart and obsessed with learning.

okay, i thought this was weird during the test,

but for everyone's 2,3 and 4 were those the later ones than 4,6, and 7?

isn't it usually renaissance->napoleon would be the "part b" of the frq's and napoleon->cold war woudl be "part c"?

i was scared my exam was numbered wrong!

nevermind, the collegeboard website posted both the regular 07 free response and the form b free response on their website and it says (like my exam)

2 3 and 4 were 18th, 19th c questions

and 5 6 and 7 were renaissance, french rev time questions

:]

phew!

did anybody write about women being influenced by world war ii and militarism? if so, what did you have to say?

Did anybody do the geopolitical and econmic rivalry between great britain and france??

From all the comments, I guess like my DBQ has really good, however, for the french rev essay, I just forgot to include much 'factual informations' :( I just talked too much abt general stuffs abt what was happening rather than particularly saying abt the tennis court or dec of rights of woman
same for the urbanization thing too.
so, what do u think I might end up in the frqs? :(

so i'm new to this, but something really surprised me on the test: there didn't seem to be any art and not too many literature questions on it! i was expecting at least a few art ones... or maybe there were, and i've already forgotten them lol
I thought the multiple choice was way different from the practice tests i took (the questions weren't very in depth) and i grouped my dbq as change over time, but i used hardly any POV.. umm and i did FRQ 4 & 7, which i think i did okay on.. but after reading what other people wrote i'm not so sure anymore.. and i spelled bourgeoisie completely wrong, hope they don't count that too much against me =\ guess i'll have to wait for the scores to come out!

I did the Britain/France rivalry one. Wow, it hurts my brain to think about it, but I think I said it was caused by mercantilism and colonial competition; the results for Britain were it became a global power/able to industrialize; results for France were building up a deficit, lost colonial presence, tax trouble, French Revolution.

SO! Tell me what you think about these lovely mistakes I made because I fail at life (no, I just got a little rushed during the test). And now I feel like an idiot.

FRQ 3 - soviet union. My paragraphs were Re/De-Stalinization making the SU unstable, failure of Gorbachev's policies (namely glasnost and perestroika), and unrest in the soviet satellites (like solidarity in poland etc)... that's okay, I think. BUT I said that the construction of the Berlin wall and the ordering of the Cuban Missile crisis were under Brezhvev when they were really under Krushchev. How much will this cost me? I did finish though, I thought the rest was pretty good.

FRQ 7 - french rev. I had to write this in under twenty minutes (that dbq needs to die a painful death) and I made a thesis about forming the national assembly, the tennis court oath, and the declaration of the rights of man. Didn't make it to the declaration paragraph, but my big mistake was calling the national assembly the national convention. All of my other info was correct - am I doomed?

cali, they would never penalize u for spelling one word wrong! that's absurd! in fact, I guess I spelled it wrong too! I am afraid I might have even given a wrong info.

Omg i put the same things! YAY! XD
for economic factor: mercantilism's theory of putting another country at risk to boost your own economic stability
geopolitical: due to mercantilism, and all the imperialism craze it caused in the Americas for the two coutnries(i iwsh i had said something about india now :) and it led to the 7 yrs war

the results was that great britain won and stuff and got a load of land and power due to the treaty of paris of 1763 ; france was weakened due to the loss of land and because frederick the great had invaded saxony (which was in 1756ish before the war) and also because of the french revolution

now i'm REALLY worried about my essays.. cuz my groupings seem to be different from everyone else's..
my dbq: 1. children were supposed to obey parents, parents had a duty to teach their children (Luther said his daughter was "obedient, respectful" in the play the father talks about his duty to his D, the pamphlet discusses how parents have a duty to their sons)

leading to practices:
2. physical punishment (king henry IV wanted his kid to be tough as he was going to be the furture monarch)
and
3. teaching by reason. (influenced by the Enlightenment, such as Locke, Rousseau and Cavendish )

i did 3 (fall of the Soviet Union) and 5 (German reunification) .
for 3, i talked about
1. the cold war, tensions between the east and west and how that hurt the economy (kind of unorganized tho..:/)
2. rise of nationalism in soviet satellite states, solidarity in poland , etc.
3. the failure of Gorbachev's policies.

now i really wish i had put in something about de-stalinization, but i was worried about time.. do you think that'll hurt me??

and for #5:
1. the protestant reformation broke up the unity of Europe , even though Charles V protested
2. that led to religious wars, virtual independence of German states through peace of Augsburg and Westphalia
3. decentralized throne as the emperor was elected, the witchcraft hysteria and petty burghers all caused social tension and unrest.

how do you guys think i did?? i'm kind of worried about my DBQs and stuff... so far i seem to be the only one who grouped the "views" by the kid's duties to parents and vice versa..and will having two paragraphs both on religion (on #5) hurt me?

Well for DBQ, I organized into belief that:
Children emerged fully formed as "little adults."
Children developed into adults.

And that subsequently:
Children were severely disciplined.
Children were treated rationally.

My essay was only three pages... I wish it were longer.

Essay #3: Talked about serious economic problems, political issues, Khrushchev's failures, Gorbachev's failures, cultural repression under Brezhnev, forgot to mention Eastern Europe though

Essay #5: Reformation, Shmalkaldic Wars, Thirty Years' War, subsequent power vacuum in Germany until rise of Prussia on Frederick William Great Elector, Germany subject to French and Austrian influence

I hated the DBQ, because the documents had little in common.

Awesome. That makes me feel better. I think I also mentioned the "continental" and "New World" areas of the Seven Years War, how Britain got exclusive ownership of North America stuff, India, while Frnace only got Sugar Islands.

By the way, did we have to explicitly separate "geopolitical" and "economic" in our essay? Those words were part of the introductory statement, not the question. But I discussed both topics, just kinda together...

I agree with you mecha, the documents were hard to group because there were four that had the same theme in common, but the others were like completely different from each other!

mhm i only had four paragraphs:
1) intro
2) ec. + gp factors
3) results
4) conclusion

both of them went hand in hand so i didnt wanna separate the paragraphs

anyone sort out the dbq with
upper class
middle class
and religious???

just wondering

tjan91...that's what i did. Plus an extra group with writers.

Who takes the form B test? Looking at it I'm very glad it was not me.

I did a tiny paragraph on religious differences for the France/British rivalry essay but I'm not sure if this is remotely right. It sounded good at the time though. Other than that I talked about colonial rivalries forever, but I had trouble making it into enough different points. Mostly I just said that France lost colonies and needed more tax money a lot.

I grouped into
Children essentially sinful/bad - needed to be punished to be good adults
Children essentially good - needed to be nurtured to be gracious adults
Children essentially uneducated - needed to learn to be informed adults
Though there were definitely some documents that didn't fit with any of these three.

My groupings on the DBQ

Children inherently bad/wild... corporal punishment

Children good and can learn on themselves as they grow up

Children should be guided by religion
