How was your experience?

Hi guys! I will be attending Vassar this fall, but because I’m an international, I won’t be able to visit on any of the admitted student days. I’ve already read up on what it is like over there and it sounds AMAZING, but I was wondering if you could tell me about your own personal experience? Thank you :slight_smile:

Welcome to Vassar!

I can tell you the experience from a parent’s view: it wasn’t that exciting :slight_smile:

We had some ok coffee & muffins, then a tour of the campus, then speeches from the various deans. After a bag lunch we went to a big room with tables for each major subject where you could ask a question of the professors- but it was packed and you had to queue up. I’ve forgotten what was after that, but I think you get the idea.

Compared to the one we went to the day before it was pretty uninspiring- but here’s the thing: my D2 chose Vassar over the school with the more exciting admitted student days- because she clicked with the students at Vassar better. My slightly reserved D found things to talk about with the other students and felt right at home. As I trust you will!

So, don’t worry too much about missing the day: I know it’s disappointing not to be able to go, but you will be there when it counts- on move-in day. Which is a very happy day. Congratulations, and again- welcome. It’s a great community.

@collegemom3717‌ oh okay thank you :slight_smile: That’s a relief! I was afraid I’d miss something important.

12345, the purpose of admitted student day is to persuade admitted students to enroll at Vassar in lieu of another college they were accepted. You were accepted ED. No persuasion is necessary. :slight_smile:

@CrewDad thank you :slight_smile:
