How will my class rank be affected?

I’m currently a junior taking 2 APs and I took 1 AP last year. Last year, I originally signed up for 3 APs but got waitlisted for one of them. I’m stressing out because junior year is such an important year in terms of challenging classes, GPA, and class rank (junior year is the first year of class rank at my school). I’m wondering how taking two APs junior yr will affect my class rank? Quite a few people in my grade are taking 4 APs as they doubled up/skipped certain courses and virtually half of my grade is enrolled in the AP I got waitlisted for.

This is very dependent on your high school (i.e. how it calculates GPA for class rank) as well as how competitive the other students in your high school are.

@ucbalumnus I’m almost positive that the weighted GPA counts for class rank. I assume 20% of my grade (375ish students in my grade) are taking 3 APs. I’m not sure if that’s even enough info?
