How will you pay for college?

[Hogwarts - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“Hogwarts - Wikipedia”>Hogwarts - Wikipedia)

It’s true!

Well unfortunately for you, that’s not how the process works (unless of course, you actually live in Latin America instead of Massachusetts).

Anyway, my parents were able to pay for me to go wherever I wanted. I initially went to a $50,000 a year private college, but realized it wasn’t worth the money, so I transferred to my state school. I think that just under $80,000 is pretty damn good for an undergraduate education. No school is worth $200,000 , especially if you need to take out massive loans. Hopefully, I’m getting a new car when I graduate since I’ve saved my parents a lot of money.

federal aid, parents, me considering i get a job or something?

My parents have said that they will pay for as much as they can for whatever college I will attend. I’m lucky and blessed to have parents help me so much, and if we need loans/grants, they woud be great! I know people who no matter what FA package, work study program, etc could not attend their dream college because it was not enough to pay for college (parents couldn’t afford it/changed their mind about paying it). Transferring is fine if you decide to, but if you are forced, it is not always good. Diontechristmas, which college did you attend? Was it even nice? Enjoy that new car!

Cs12345, I was looking at first page and was about to post then. Then I got to the second page…

Anyway, I have some money set aside for college, but I will also apply for F aid. Other than that, I dunno’.

Financial aid or nothing.

I was at BU. Thanks, I guess, but I didnt get it yet lol

Financial aid.
Work study.
Loans.
Parents… at most 10k.
(In that order.)

Oh, at least ut was a nice school in a great college town. Well, I guess that the thought of a brand new car is great motivation for you lol! This guy at my old school planned to join the army out of HS, and his father promised that he would get him any car he wanted since college would be free. Well, in theiry, he could spend like $200,000 on a super nice car, but I’m guessing that he will enjoy a very nice BMW instead. Poor guy :D

Boston’s not for everyone; certainly wasn’t for me. I was glad to be home while saving my parents a ton of money.

how do you expect anyone to know what you are talking about or referring to? If that post was intended to make fun of my post about hogwarts than the joke is on you.

Hogwarts would be fun…

I’m pretty much praying for a ton of FA. My parents could pay 20k at the very most, but anymore than that would just screw over their lifestyle, which is something I’d rather not do.

It may just end being student loans for me.

go to one that’s 100% need met. that’s what i did

if you don’t do that you’ll either be in debt or have scholarships up the ass

If I go to an instate school, everything should be covered by my grandmother’s college fund. (Unless tuition rises A LOT)
If it’s an out of state school that costs more, I may have to take out loans. (if I don’t get financial aid)

Merit aid, perhaps financial aid (but not likely), taking on a job (jobs?) during college, and possibly leaving the country to go to university.

After all, it is cheaper outside the U.S…

I don’t have to pay much but my parents have said they won’t pay for anything because they really can’t. Whatever I need I’m taking out in loans.

Merit scholarships. I know my Latin teacher’s alma mater will be glad to have me, they have a ton of merit scholarships available (even NMSFs get half tuition automatically) and I wouldn’t terribly mind going there (but… I don’t really want to…) I’m hoping to get a bigger, better scholarship elsewhere. I’ll have about $3k in outside scholarships, but that’s almost nothing.

My dad says that wherever I go to college, we’ll find a way to pay for it, but it would be so stupid for me to go somewhere and get 50k of loans or whatever. If a school can pay all but my EFC in grants and work study, then I’d be happy to go there (our EFC is reasonably low, not to mention it’s split between two kids while I’m in college), but I’m not going to take out more loans when we’ll probably be borrowing for our EFC anyways.

Obama promised to pay everyone’s rent, gas and give everyone a pony. I’m still waiting on that pony but I’m sure he’ll pay for my college so no worries.

My parents decided when I was born to pay for any college that I decide to go to. So I am planning to just use my ‘college fund’ that they set up for me.
