How would you all feel about co-ed ROOMS at Carolina?

This was in the local paper today....says it is the trend....how do you all feel...lets say: student or parent and your feelings.

Parent: I would rather they make the halls and pods coed but rooms single sex. This could become rather complicated. I lived with a couple of guys in a house in grad school, but we each had our own room. it was fun having them around but we had privacy.

I'd be cool with that as long as I could pick my roommate.

yepyep...sounds like fun.

Oh and I'm a current student.

I remember actually saying I wish we could have co-ed rooms when I was trying to find a roommate for next year. Most of my girl friends wanted to live in Morrison but I wanted North Campus (which is what a lot of my guy friends wanted) so it would've worked better that way.

I think people should have the right to determine whether or not they'd be comfortable with whatever when it comes to dorming. It's not really the school's job to decide what works best for whoever. I know for the LGBTQ community, having that option could help. It would need to be elective, of course, but we're adults and capable of making decisions like this.

As a student, I would strongly support allowing students request gender-neutral housing. It should be optional, but available.
