Well, even though no one was able to provide an answer to this question, I’ve chosen umn. I’ve managed to find information after making a phone call and the co-op program for minnesota seems to be good for a chemical engineer. I didn’t realize till recently that they have large companies in their state, such as 3M, and in the neighboring states aswell, such as DOW and DuPont.

@LNtransChE I am an international student wanting to major in Chemical Engineering. I am in the process of choosing the destination for my next 4 years. As UMN TC alumni, could you share the co-op experience? Was the income from co-op enough to help paying for tuition? Were you charged for tuition fee during the co-op? How many credits you get from the co-op? Did you get some sort of training from the university before you started co-op? How does the co-op experience benefit your job opportunities/ education?
I’m very interested in this topic as well. My D, planning to major in ChemE, is in the process of deciding between UM and one of the top UC schools. I know there are some major employers in the TC area who hire ChemE interns, but would like to compare the opportunities to those that might exist in the Bay Area, or in CA in general.
