How would you react/celebrate if you got into Harvard University Regular Decision (Class of 2021)?

Hang in there everyone! Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 5 PM ET Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, and Yale will have released admissions decisions for applicants who applied Regular Decision. It seemed as if yesterday in which I had submit my college applications.

How would you react/celebrate if you had been admitted to Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, and/or Yale?

IvyDayC2021

Probably watch reruns of Shameless or Veep.

But in all seriousness, I would definitely freak out, and cry a little bit, if I were accepted. As for the celebration, I’d probably go out to dinner or something with friends; I’m not quite sure.

Call my grandfather.

He’s always so proud of everything that I do (even if it’s not always impressive). I think he deserves to be the first to know if I am admitted to an Ivy (I applied HYP). We don’t talk often but I’d rather call him than any of my friends.

After that, I’ll finish working (I work until 6 on the 30th, and I’m in mountain time). From there, my mom is grilling me a steak whether I’m admitted or not. If admitted, it’s celebrating getting into an Ivy (and beginning the tough decision process), but if not it’ll celebrate officially committing to Notre Dame.

Whether I’m admitted or not, I’ll probably let out a huge sigh that that opaque, stressful process is over.

@CheckMyBrain11 You sound like a terrific person and I love your plans! It sounds like mom and grandfather have a lot to be proud of. My son and I had a plan for each big day and it makes me a little nostalgic to hear yours. I’m rooting for you!

pop champagne. No seriously I would plan my housing and financial aid and celebrate with family, thank my peers. If not ill commit to UCB

@Alamom thank you. My sister didn’t really apply anywhere difficult/prestigious so my mom has been very supportive of everything (first time around). Where is your son now?

@CheckMyBrain11 He’s a freshman at Harvard. He was blessed with several good options and those last minute visits to decide were very rushed, but I think he made the best choice for him. I can’t stress that enough. Choose the one that’s right for YOU.

@Alamom that’s definitely the goal. I’ve never been to the East Coast, so my visit this April will be a huge deciding factor. In all likelihood, my decision will be made easy haha, and I’m enthralled by the thought of attending Notre Dame.
