Hang in there everyone! Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 5 PM ET Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, and Yale will have released admissions decisions for applicants who applied Regular Decision. It seemed as if yesterday in which I had submit my college applications.
How would you react/celebrate if you had been admitted to Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, and/or Yale?
IvyDay
Lol I pledge I will do something completely wild. Idk exactly what yet, but it will be good. (Taking suggestions!)
I think I’d cry and immediately call my parents/grand parents/specific dog park friends and teachers (LOL). Then cry some more. And then stay up as late as I can to convince myself I’m not dreaming (which I probably will do many times coming soon)
What you probably will do is play the Bulldog Welcome screen over and over and over and over… again!!
I’ll be in class when I find out… so I’d just excuse myself to go outside, jump around in happiness and excitement, and casually walk back in…
And after class, go and stare at my screen and call my parents and other people! Go home, have a mini party by myself and some music…
@Rosalina2427 - I would highly recommend that you do not check the portal while you are in class. If you get in, you will want to be able to let out a great yelp. If the news is bad, it may be awkward in class. I know for a fact that kids who checked at school alone, without any parental support, were devastated and many had meltdowns in the bathroom. Please remember that your friends will be in the same boat. If they got in and you didn’t, they may not know how to comfort you and it may be uncomfortable. If your parents aren’t your go to comfort, then at least be around someone who can share your happiness sincerely or provide you comfort and a shoulder to cry on.
@Tperry1982 If I don’t get in, I’ll be perfectly fine. I’m already happy and grateful to have my application considered by Yale, let alone submit one!
@Rosalina2427 - that is a great attitude to have. I know you will be fine. Sadly, so many of your peers are not quite so grounded. Those are the ones I worry about.
@Tperry1982 I checked after class and got rejected, so I sighed for one second and happily carried on with normal life
@Rosalina2427 - I am sorry for the rejection but happy that you have the mental fortitude to accept it for what it is - just one school saying NO and not the end of the world. Sadly, that is not the case for so many students and there was many a meltdown last evening. Of course, it does depend on the high school and the area. Good luck to you wherever you choose to attend.
