Howard University Early Applicant Forum 2017-2018

So, seeing that there are no forums for this year’s applicants, I figured that it would be appropriate to start this page! Now we can all bury ourselves in nerves and anxiety together! (=

This is a judge-free environment.

Ask questions.

Post any uplifting tips that could ultimately ease the tension of waiting for your possible future classmates. Let’s keep this positive. Good luck everyone!

Hi I am an EA applicant. They emailed saying we should get a decision no later than 12/15. I am excited, and scared.

Same, I felt my stomach churn when I saw the email. Usually they set the date to 12/15 but sometimes the
students receive their acceptances and their rejections on a little after the date. Yikes! I can’t take the suspense! Quick question. What major is everyone looking at?? Also, I founded this pretty cool countdown: https://days.to/15-december/2017

I applied EA as well through the Common App. I heard that if you applied with CA then you will get your scholarship award and acceptance through the mail. Anyone know if theres any truth to this?

I’m not really sure for this school. However, mailing the scholarship information is usually the most common way to know if you got any money from the school. We’ll know whether we got accepted via email in December.

I’m honestly so nervous about this whole process. I finished everything on the CA before Nov 1st. Would it be a bad idea for us to post our individual stats?

Personally, I think it might make some people slightly nervous if we compare our credentials with each other. Although I do see the pros of sharing our stats. It creates some sort of reassurance. Actually, I think it’s alright I guess. Please be humble about your amazing accomplishments! (=

I feel you. Hopefully everyone who finds their way to this forum gets accepted. What about Howard made you want to apply?

First: The motivated and driven students!
Second: The historical background.
Third: The Laboratory Opportunities for the Biology Major / Social Progressive Connections and Opportunities
Fourth: Location (Low-Key trying to get out of North Carolina)

Basically same, just not in that order. They have so many opportunities for Journalism and Political Science majors. Especially since it is in DC. I’m from Ohio so it would be a needed culture shock for me.

The day has come guys…

I’m gonna scream I’m so nervous ;~; Good luck to all! On a side note Howard won’t send Financial Aid info until later right? My acceptance hinges on the amount of aid I get because without hefty aid I can’t afford to go Out of State :frowning:

Can’t wait to hear!!!

In last year’s thread I saw that people received decisions around 8-11pm so I guess we still have a little wait.

Oh okay thank you. I keep checking every hour

Same here! Anxiously awaiting

anyone find out yet?

Is it coming out today???

at this point I have no idea

They’re closed for winter break tomorrow until the 31st so today seems like it would be the last day, but it’s also 10:15pm where I am so I don’t know
