What'd you guys write about?
I used Huck Finn, Great Gatsby and Spiderman as my three paragraphs. xD

Used World War 2, and professional sports… It was until after the essay I totally forgotten to write about Huck Finn.

Ohh sports that’s a really good one

I mainly wrote about how society looks at the face value and then when we look behind the projected image, then we start to see where the edges were cut and the inconsistencies. Mentioned Andrew Carnegie (big time illegal inside trader) and about how colleges (managed to get Northwestern and NYU in there!!) won’t know the difference between a cheated 98 and an honest 90 - and how they’ll prefer the 98. Etc. At the end, instead of trying to sound like I was promoting cheating and edge-cutting, I noted that we should be happy with our endeavors and how we have a guilt-free conscience.

Totaled around 375-400 words. Maybe more.

Edit - Oh, I was able to throw in Martha Stewart, too. And Social Darwinism. Haha.

i said that proper manners are necessary, and used Les Miserables, A Long Way Gone, and Oscar Schindler.

TERRIBLE, wasn’t even close to being done, i used a personal example and Enron, that’s it

haha I mentioned Andrew Carnegie as well but used him as an example of someone who was business savvy and agressive and yet still was a major philanthropist.
but I mainly talked about Bernie Madoff.

I wrote about the Trail of Tears (historical) and Fahrenheit 451 (literature…don’t know if I was being totally clear though). I wrote to the third to last line, but didn’t really proofread. At least it was perfectly legible. I was spewing out prompts to my friend a few minutes before and this was practically one of them…wish I had actually prepared for it though, as it was my first SAT essay.

i used the great gatsby and “personal” examples

I used two examples:

The Great Gatsby… I said how Jay was the most successful person (arguably) on West Egg and he basically swindled people, whereas Nick was always honest and had strong morals but he wasn’t as successful.

Barry Bonds… steroids + no ethics = success!

Lol at the Martha Stewart one.
I should have used Rob Blagoivich

haha cid i used great gatsby too! wrote two paragraphs about how gatsby didn’t succeed because he was immoral

also wrote two paragraphs on the fountainhead, contrasting roark and keating

hmm…
are there different prompts? :/

i don’t read books, so i always have trouble with examples

which is why i used enron :D

I blanked and used A-Rod and the Patriots video-tape thing. I sat there for a few minutes and then I thought of the South Park episode about “Bill Billlllechek” and just rolled with the sports thing. But even though the examples were bad the whole thing was pretty good and I made a strong point.

not that great…
i used watergate and personal.

hoping for at least an 8 but had to rush the conclusion to two sentences :(

did anyone have the prompt, “is it sometimes necessary to be impolite?”

I had that but it doesn’t seem like anyone else did!

yea, but it was like “does ethics prevent you from succeeding in life?” or something like that

I wrote my entire essay on Bernie Madoff.

I didn’t come close to finishing either. An intro and a half ass body paragraph and that’s it. I was able to use one personal example. How will this affect my score?
