How's McGill on accepting transfer credits?

I was just admitted as a transfer student to Faculty of Arts, and I’ve completed 64 credits already (just finished my second year at a US college). How many of these can I expect to be accepted? What are other people’s transfer experience with McGill?

Hi, there aren’t many of us transfer students so congrats I guess.

To answer your question simply: they’ll accept all but they may not all count.

As long as you do half of your degree at McGill, you’re okay but that said, despite the fact that they will accept your credits, few of them may end up counting towards your degree (even in something as broad an arts degree) because what they don’t explicitly tell you is that you need to go to each department (ex. sociology, business, music, engineering) to have them evaluated and the curriculum must match identically for them to accept it as a credit (even if it’s in the same faculty, same course name). Save copies of your syllabus and go to each department and find their equivalents and ask them to evaluate them and they could potentially count. All the best.
