How's the Business Major compared to other UC's

I was wondering if someone could tell me, (if I get accepted to Irvine), which schools are better for a business job?

For me, personally, I got accepted to UCSC and UCR and I heard that UCSC had a good business major, and I'm just waiting on Irvine.

So, please someone compare schools :)

The business major is brand new so there is no way to compare it at this time. UCI will only be accepting 150 students into business. Some have posted on here that they have been accepted, but into a different major. Good luck maybe you will be one of the 150!

collegemom16: Do you know if they have any accounting within the new department?

What is your take on it? 150 students, new professors, new department. Worth risking the empty reputation?

I was applying for a business economics major.. Is that different from the 150 students acceptance thing?

I guess they created a business school, brand new this year?

UCI has a very strong graduate business school. They just start to have an undergraduate program/major this year. This is going to be a very good major and so are the other business related, i.e. business economics, majors as well.

I got accepted to the undergraduate business administration program at UCI. I'm debating whether I should take that, or study business economics at UCLA. I'm not even sure what I'll get out of studying business econ since I want to start/own a business someday so business admin sounds like it makes more sense....

Either major would work well for that; however, Business econ gives you a much stronger mathematics and economics background which can be very helpful. Business Administration is still good but you can learn a lot of that stuff on the job. Better yet go to UCLA and major in business econ and minor in management (if they have the minor).

ok. thanks for the advice!
