How's U Penn's Economics compared to other colleges?

<p>How 'good' is Economics in U Penn compared to Columbia, U Chicago or NYU? I know that Penn has the best business school, but the business rank is not the same as Economics..</p>

<p>Any ideas?</p>

<p>UChicago’s is probably the best Econ in the nation, they have 20+ econ nobel laureates affiliated with them</p>

<p>Upenn econ is awesome…very strong department with an emphasis on quantitative work</p>

<p>Easily a top 10 department, the best after <em>The best</em> (Harvard Princeton Stanford Chicago)</p>

<p>MIT is definitely in that group of <em>the best</em> econ depts (along with Chicago, Stanford, Harvard, and Princeton). </p>

<p>From what I know, Penn’s in the same league as Columbia, NYU, Northwestern, etc. Sorta the bottom end of the top ten.</p>
