HP tx2500z (tablet)

Has anyone else used this laptop? Any feedback?

Fairly solid computer, I've had mine since June. Aside from your usual Windows Vista gripes, it's good. The one thing I'd say to you is to be completely positive that you are going to use the touchscreen, because I bought mine thinking that I'd be doing EVERYTHING on here, only to end up just using a good ol' notebook in class. The swivel screen is actually really nice, and it's very compact so it definitely has a plus for portability. It's also got lots of solid buttons for easy control like volume, on/off trackpad, and a button that brings up an on-the-go menu to adjust various things like brightness, touchscreen, etc. For viewing things, the screen isn't the best, but it's suitable to enjoy a movie. Various reviews report a heating concern, but I haven't had any heating issues beyond what you would expect for a normal computer.

There is something wrong with my ethernet port, however. A couple weeks ago I noticed that none of my cords are catching in the port; it may have been that my roommate or someone yanked the cord. The internet still works, but I have to jam the cord into port in order for it to stay.

Any questions?

Thanks for the response.

Do you have OneNote? How easy is it to write on the screen? I was worried that it might be difficult sometimes to control what you write.

Yes, I have OneNote. It's an excellent program, but I recommend if your going to use it for extensive note-taking, use the keyboard to type and the pen to draw images. For OneNote, all you have to do is take the pen and start drawing, no need to add an imagebox or anything like that.

Again, I thought I'd be using the touchscreen more, and in retrospect I probably would have bought one with a larger screen without touch if I knew how little I'd use it, but otherwise I still love it.

Thanks again for the help.

What type of classes have you used it in? Also, is the computer good for normal use (games, video, etc)?

Thanks.
