HS CLASS OF 2015/ U 2019 CHANCE THREAD

EVERYONE JOIN IN ON THE CHANCING IF YOU GRADUATE IN 2015!

DISCLAIMER- THIS IS A GENERAL QUESTION ABOUT SPECIALIZED STUDENTS!!! EVERYONE COMMENT YOUR SPECIALTIES SO WE CAN ALL HELP EACH OTHER! This is kind of a chance me, but the general question I have is one I know is very important, yet it doesn't seem to be one of up-most importance on this website.

I am what you would consider a special case. I am enrolled in a Global Studies and World Languages Academy; I have a bleeding passion for leadership, politics, and international relations. I get stellar grades in these courses, especially in our selective academy classes, advanced language courses, and social sciences courses. I do fairly okay in science (about an A-), but I have had lower grades in math (C range). My SAT score is 2000+. What I believe sets me apart is my drive to do better and take every opportunity given to me- and none of it was done for the college applications. I love doing things that will benefit others, and my goal is to one day work in American politics with the State Department.
Now, if my grades are not overall spectacular, what will my chances be at my top schools! Thanks!

for my senior project- My senior project is putting on my city's first Model UN Conference for middle schoolers in my city!
@RochesterLover‌ thank you! I’ll chance you too!

Wow, class of '15 represent! If you put all of your determination into your application and essays, you will be a shoe in for sure. Best of luck!
Chance me:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1642228-chance-for-vanderbilt-and-gatech-will-ed-help-will-chance-back.html#latest

You’re not a lock for GTown but you’ll have a decent shot, Stanford/Columbia is impossibru for everyone. I’m unsure of your chances at UCSD. If you lived in California, like I do, you’d be a lock. Being out of state will hurt your chances a little bit. Can’t say that I know enough about the other schools to accurately guess.

You are absolutely getting into Georgetown if you apply early.

Do you still have time to bring up SATs. How much above 2000 is your score. If you get at least a 2250, i say you have a good shot at Georgetown

Georgetown is my dream school too, and I’m also interested in international relations/affairs. Your extracurriculars are great! Good luck!

Wow. That was one of the more impressive and truly QUALITY Chance Me’s I’ve read in a while. Colleges will fall in love with your course choices. I’m pretty sure Georgetown and Columbia would love you. Depending on where your final SAT score lands, you might have the slightest chance at Stanford. But very small because everyone gets rejected by Stanford lol.

@KiaraInNYC‌ , that really is reassuring. Sometimes I read the chance threads on here can get really put off; I feel like I sometimes don’t measure up. Thank you so much for seriously changing my perspective on my chances! And lol Stanford is the one “crapshoot” application my mom is letting me do so its literally because i plan on framing a rejection letter hahaha. Thank you! and @Kfiddle‌ I will chance you!

It’s because you aren’t one of those students who puts a list of APs in a random hat and then enrolls in what they pick. Schools will be able to see that you actually took out time to pick the right courses and that you truly centered your high school experience around global studies. Even your ECs are stellar. Man, I wish I was you lol. Because schools are going to war for you.

@KiaraInNYC‌ You just made me the happiest college hopeful in the world; seriously!
