So I am an incoming senior in High School and I am not asking for a major chance thing. I am simply wondering how likely it is for someone to get in who is not in the top 10% of their class? In my school I will be in the top 11% but due to some people taking easy classes and doing perfectly in everything I will be unable to get into the top 10%. So how likely would it be to get in if you just barely miss getting into the top 10%?

Long story short: no one knows.

Obviously, class rank is one of the many indicators of your academic success and will be a factor in admissions. And yes most of the admitted studnets will be in the top 10% percent of their respective high schools. However, class rank is only 1 of MANY factors in the admission process so a non-top 10% ranking does not automatically equal rejection. It doesn’t even necessarily mean you are at a huge disadvantage either. If other components of your application are great, you still have a chance at being accepted.

I believe I will have other fantastic components of my application. I am happy to learn that I will not be put at a huge disadvantage by it as well. Thank you for the help!

I ened up graduating at just about the 25th percentile of my class and was accepted, so you certainly have a chance!
