Hi! I am interested in Princeton, Yale, or Stanford and am a freshman in HS. PLEASE comment suggestions on courses to take, clubs to join, etc. Also, is it likely to get into an Ivy League school coming from a non-prestigious high school? It is a good school, but its ranked about 76th in the state. Would you even go as far as transferring to a better school?
Take the most rigorous courses available to you. Find some EC’s that you love and develop your leadership skills. Get to know your teachers and help them get to know you. The “prestige” of your high school is far less important than who you are and what you accomplish. Work hard, become the best version of “you”, enjoy these high school years and when it’s all said and done let the chips land where they may.
thank you! this is super helpful! how many AP classes would be appropriate for sophomore year?
The “number of” APs per year will vary depending on what each HS offers and is less important than taking the most rigorous course load available to you.
