I received my confirmation email March 10th, haven’t heard anything yet.
@johndoe11235 I don’t think interviews are an option. The application alone is pretty extensive so I don’t think having an interview on top of that was deemed necessary.
i feel like they would want to read all the apps before deciding a final 24 though so I’m confused
@xsos15 I agree, Dr. Richmond has already ready every application at least once.
I mean there’s no way we know her process, but she’s also a teacher so I can’t imagine reading through 300+ applications more than once each.
@JKMSNJ Thanks! I got it on April 13th
I’m becoming to believe 24 spots have been already filled, given Dr. Richmond needs to finalize the list by May 1. Very few of you might be lucky to get in in the next 2 weeks.
What is your S’s back-up plan, @JKMSNJ ?
@curiousme2 he got accepted into another 2 programs and declined 1 offer already. He loves HSHSP but the chance is deminishing.
I’ve seen your name @JKMSNJ on several other summer program threads, so I figured he had a back-up. In the end, it will all work out. Thankful he has other good options. HSHSP is not looking likely for those who haven’t been accepted yet.
I wish we were given a more dependable deadline…it seems strange that the first posted acceptance was so late compared to last years
This may seem like wishful thinking (it probably is) but all three acceptances on this page were within one day of each other (April 12-13), so there’s a chance that was just one wave of acceptances. Last year, someone got accepted March 29 and another almost two weeks after that, April 10. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
I got rejected yesterday 4/15 at 8 am so another wave might be coming out or I might be the end of the previous wave.
Thank you for the update @awang1102 and I’m sorry. Did the email say how many applicants there are this year?
@curiousme2 I believe someone else’s email stated that there were about 350 applications.
Son was accepted to HSHSP, BU Rise and Garcia (declined for SSP) He just decided on Garcia so that opens up a spot for someone on the HSHSP waitlist.
Hey all–I no longer will be attending as I got into MITES. Super hard to choose between the two, but hopefully this opens up a spot for one of y’all!! Best of luck:)
@muffindollars Congrats. I heard it’s extremely hard to get into MITES this year. MITEs is a fantastic program and hope you enjoy your time this summer @MIT. Unfortunately my S is not eligible to apply to.
Wow @Bigpapa2018 your child must have an impressive resume. Congratulations! Do you mind sharing what field he was matched at BU RISE? (Also waiting to be matched at RISE)
Enjoy MIT @muffindollars, that’s awesome!
Hi @curiousme2 Thanks, he is very excited! To clarify regarding BU RISE, he pulled back his application prior to matching being complete as not to take someone’s spot away.
