HUM + Revelle for an engineering major

Can anybody give me a summary of what goes on in the different HUM classes? Are they really difficult and require a lot of time, possibly even jeopardizing GPA?

With all the GE requirements, is Revelle really for engineering majors? Would we be using whole quarters for GEs rather than interesting engineering classes that go beyond the requirements for graduation?

I understand that in any university I'll have to take classes for breadth, but will going to Revelle use significant amounts of time that could have been spent discovering my specific passion within my major, the topic(s) that I'll be researching in grad school?

I am not in revelle but I have a couple of friends who are and they are basically dying trying to keep their grades up. There are always going to be classes that will kill your GPA because you will be taking classes that are not for your major as well, literature, music, etc.
there will be plenty of time to decide what you want to do. maybe you will even change majors, and that is a very common thing.
