Human Ec/PAM Students

I would definitely agree with your interpretation of diversity, stargazer. Diversity is one of the reasons why I'm looking to leave UVa.

Diversity for me has much more to do with socio-economic background than simply race and from what I've read Cornell has more diversity in that sense.

But yea, after skimming through the curriculum off the website kat posted earlier I am very stoked about applying to PAM. I think it fits my interests perfectly. Now I just have to show that to the admissions committee.

Are all of the core PAM classes held at MVR?

No... your freshman schedule will look something like this

PAM 230- MVR
Econ- Uris
Psych- Bailey
FWS- goldwin smith
PAM 203- Statler

What career possibilities are there for PAM majors?

Shifu - from what I've read, many go into Law, Public Policy, Govt, Business, Consulting, Management, etc. This site was posted earlier and will give you great info Course Info

ije28, do you know if PAM has a high transfer population by any chance?

Don't quote me on this but i am quite certain that there are a fair number of students that transfer into PAM each year. A lot of students don't know about it and especially students who live in NY but are in arts and sciences and are gov't majors a switch to PAM is ideal since it saves them like $10,000 a year. I do know however that HumEc receives the most transfers (internal transfers) of all the colleges

I'm in NYU CAS majoring in Govt/Econ but PAM fits my interests more, plus saves me a bundle...it's like perfect. If I had known about it before, I would have applied as a freshman! Instead I have to deal with transfer hassles now. I know 1/4 ILR students are transfers, are you sure HumEc has the most? More than 1/4 is a lot. But it makes sense, because often freshman have a vague idea of what they're interested in.

Ohhhhhh... by transfers i thought you meant ITD (internal transfer within cornell's colleges). PAM itself is very small, around 40 in each grade. I'm a freshman so i really have no idea if there are a lot of transfers.
