Hi! I noticed that all of the individuals who did research internships in universities during high school were in STEM areas, like programming or biology. I understand STEM research internship would involve data collection/logging, maybe cleaning out test tubes or something (I don’t know!) but not sure what a social sciences-focused internship would entail.
I do have a pretty substantial resume of involvement in international issue and nonprofits. I’m interested in international development and social justice. But how could I help professors with research? Could anyone who has done a humanities/social sciences/political science/economics internship with a professor talk about what they did? Looking for insight on what I can talk with professors about. The only thing I could think of is doing graphic design for fact sheets on their research.
