Humanities?

I've heard that Yale is stronger in humanities than math/science, and I am also more of a humanities person than math/science, although I really enjoy math and science too. I don't really plan on doing the major science competitions (i.e. Intel), and I kind of want to focus on other things, like fencing, writing, various school clubs, and music.

I really want to go to Yale (have wanted to go for a long time now), and I was wondering if I should do more math/science stuff so I won't just be humanities. My parents really want me to do science research also, even though I told them I wasn't that interested. Any advice would be helpful.

Erm...I'm not sure if I conveyed my point too clearly, so I apologize in advance.

If you don't want to do it, don't do it!!! I got in early this year, and I barely have any science-related activities at all...I'm almost 100% focused on humanities and the arts. Do what you love, and Yale will appreciate that! Don't try to fit into a mold you don't like...go to a music or writing program this summer instead of science research, I promise, it'll be worth it :-)
