Humans vs. Zombies Game at Ohio State

We are attending parents weekend at Ohio State and are seeing the Human vs. Zombies Game in action. It is hysterical and looks like a lot of fun. Our freshman is doing it and says it is a blast. They run these “missions” and we drove in the middle of one and saw about 200 students running around like crazy-just very fun and made me wish I was young again.

For those unfamiliar with it Humans vs. Zombies is a tag game that is popular on midwest college campuses. This is the second time it is happening at OSU. Everyone starts out as humans and they use nerf guns and socks to defend themselves. There are about 10 original zombies and if they tag a human the human becomes a zombie and goes after other humans. You see all these kids walking around with giant nerf guns. Everyone wears bandanas and about 900 students are involved. If you get a chance to play in the Spring you should- it looks like a fun way of meeting students and having some fun. Our freshman says they have a facebook page.

P.S. Our freshman told us that secret service asked them to temporally suspend the game on Sunday when the president is on campus. They didn’t want a bunch of kids running around with nerf guns.

I’m also a freshman here. I saw a bunch of zombies running out of Mirror Lake Creamery like it was on fire. It is funny how zealous a lot of the participants take it.

I know it is funny how they are running around. While doing geo-caching as part of parents weekend, we saw a group of humans get ambushed by a group of zombies. It was crazy to see the socks go flying and the nerf darts. Some humans were tagged. When the humans were on one side of us deciding which way to go, I wanted to yell at them to not go down the path since I could see the Zombies in waiting. It was just hysterical to see it. Everyone is telling us they want to join in the Spring for the next game so if you get a chance you should do it.
