I've been looking at various CUNY schools, and getting to know their theater programs from their sites. I can't seem to find a clear answer online about whether Hunter requires auditions to pursue their BA in theater. I spoke to a student at a college event recently, who studied theater there and mentioned an audition - could it be I misunderstood and they were auditioning for another school or program at Hunter, or do they hold auditions? If anyone could help me out, that would be great, since I'm trying to get together a calendar of all audition dates for schools I'm applying to, so that I can do my best to make sure I can fit them all in! Thank you :)

Hunter does not have an audition to get in the theater program. When you applied for CUNY schools, you chose all the colleges you want and the major of each college. When you are accepted into Hunter, you audition every semester fall and spring for their shows. Also, every school year, you get to chose and vote for what productions they should do.

The only CUNY school that has auditions is Brooklyn College which is usually around March. The application is due Feb 15, Jan 15 internationally. The audition is for the BFA Acting. There is no audition for the BA Theater.
