What is this huntsman program that i keep reading about in this forum? CAn someone please elaborate about it. By any chance does the huntsman program have anything to do with Wharton?

M&T = Engineering and Wharton
Huntsman = College and Wharton (also need to be fluent >=2 languages)

is there a seperate applciation for the huntsman program?

also, huntsman requires you to spend your junior year abroad in a country where the primary language is the second language you've studied at penn.

For the Huntsman program you're going to have to write an extra essay about why you are interested in Int'l business, and what you've done to prepare yourself for that field. It is supper competitive and they take about 40 students from a pool of 500

Generally if you want to go to huntsman you have to take and get at least a 700 on the SAT II of the language that you want to specialize in. Also you have to take the math IIC.

its rather 600 ppl... so yes, its very competitive

Do you have to know how to write in that language? Or knowing how to speak it enough?

wow that is competitive

www.upenn.edu/huntsman has everything you need to know

globebrain is incorrect. you do NOT need an SAT II score above 700 in your language. I know someone who got into the huntsman program early with an SAT II Chinese score in the 600s.

really? thats very low... I think like 40 percentile?

the guy had either a 650 or a 670. he was white.

Well he probably exceled at other things, such as ECs

yea i agree, there has to be more to that guy than just his SAT2s. If what i hear about the huntsman program is correct, you need to be very well rounded and to have very good stats in order to be accepted into the program.

yeah he is a great guy, very hardworking (good number of APs though nothing mindblowing, good SAT scores even though they weren't perfect, straight As, really really good at economics, president of investment club, played a sport)

Jimbob I did say generally when i said that you had to get above a 700 on your language sat II. But I agree with you if you are a well rounded person you can deffinately get by on less. Also contrary to popular belief you do not really need any business ecs to get into these programs. Lots of people say that recs and essays are the most important parts of penn applications and that really shows because penn is one of the only ivys that is willing to overlook sub-par test scores and grades if you have other desireable qualities. Also if you are taking the SAT II in a language like chinese and are not a native speaker you are given a break as far as the "necessary" scores go
