Founder and president of a local math organization that teaches math problem solving to kids…has over 100 kids (azn kids, but cute! ) involved so far
Member, Mu Alpha Theta, all four years. I’m also frequent regional top scorer for bunch of contests
Northern California ARML member

President, Academic Decathlon: this is by far my most extensive extracurricular activity. Not only did I win first individually in county (9 medals), but I am also an individual state champion of California, and got 7 medals in state. I also won the Northern California scrimmage my sophomore year. At state, I got first place overall, in math, science, and a bunch of others

State history day finalist

BUNCH of science research. In fact, I've done chemistry research for the last four years, and currently have a fully independent project (which explores a set of completely new zintl phase compounds) at a prestigious local univerisity, and I'm hoping to submit an abstract of it. I've also done full independent projects my freshman and sophomore year.
I also have a lot of science awards, including
-national finalist/delegate, Junior Science Symposium (4th place NorCal, very difficult)
-Rensselaer medal (my teacher just informed me a day ago)
-siemens regional semifinalist (group project soph year)
-Yale science and engineering award
-3rd place Cal State science fair
-Army Award for Science Excellence
-many first place awards in my regional fair
-Intel Research grant
-COSMOS 2006
other awards, including...
-National Qualifier, USA Chemistry Olympiad
-Silver in National Science League competitions, sophomore and juior years
This summer, I'm going to boston on a program that selects about 25 juniors to do research in boston university labs (includign MIT). I'll be doing a research project there, which I'll submit to Intel and Siemens (again, lol).

Essay: Should be very good (maybe not epic). About combining my passion for science and history

Why do you even need to ask? you have flawless SATs, great ECs…you can go anywhere…

oh, and I’m planning on meeting a Yale chemistry professor to critique/or just read (whatever it is professors do! ) my science abstracts and papers.

***?!
That is one of the sickest resumes I have ever read! These things make me feel inadequate.
Good luck with changing the world.

bu…bum…bump

That’s a really solid application. But what’s your particular interest? Government, writing, science, math, history, or music?

^Thanks. Science (definitely), and I kinda like history. But yup I’m a science nerd.

Yeah, you are going to get a lot of generic “HYPSM are reaches for everyone,” but at the same time do realize that while none of these schools are guaranteed, you could very well be one of those students that the colleges admit strictly for academic excellence (yes, they do exist). I would be shocked if you don’t make it into at least one of those universities.

Yeah if you are interested in Yale try SCEA! It would be an injustice if they didn’t let you in.

If you don’t get into Yale/Harvard, etc, who does? You have clearly worked your butt off, and the results will pay off!

Hi dashboard, were you by any chance accepted to RSI?

^No, actually. :frowning: I called 'em and said they only took two people from my region of California, and they are WAAAY more qualified than I am. But I don’t care since I got into another research program.

it seems like a ■■■■■ to me

^seriously

■■■■■ in my opinion. First off, why would you need to estimate your Calc AB AND Calc BC scores? Shouldn’t you have already taken Calc AB?

This is definitely not a ■■■■■. Just an extremely intelligent person. Congrats on that amazing application! I would put money on the notion that you would get into 3/5 at the least. Congrats =]

^no, actually. I already took the AB exam (fresh) and the chem and stats (soph) and got 5’s on those. I took the BC exam this year because I didn’t get to take it soph year due to extenuating circumstances. I was GUESSING that I would have all 5’s on ALL of my exams.
if you think i’m a ■■■■■ just check post history.

^thanks, frangela. I don’t understand why some people assume petty mistakes make you a ■■■■■. But i can see why, since there are an annoying number of ■■■■■■ on this website.

improving your SAT to 2410 or 2420 might improve your chances, but otherwise I’m not feeling it

but seriously… there are probably only a few people in the world that could even comes close to matching your resume. if you don’t get into any college you want to, then where the hell am i going to go

Hi dashboard! Congrats on such an excellent resume! Honestly, this is the best app I can remember viewing on this site! I say you will get into at least 3/5 (if less, I’m stunned). For people knocking her down, I know people who got into like 4 Ivies and this candidate appears to be a better applicant than them. Where have you conducted 4 years worth of chemistry research? Was that at a local state university; sorry, I just have not heard of some of these awards. I guess when you live in the boonies in NC, you’re a tad isolated!

BTW, how did you get awarded a Yale engineering award? Also, what is the Rensselaer medal? My school gives out a Harvard + Yale Award annually, but the recipients are awarded it based on general academic excellence, not in the engineering field. In addition, what is the Army engineering award? Sorry to ask, but what is ACLU? Thanks! :)

hey big dreamer…guess you’re an underclassman, huh?
well, yale engineering award…got from local science fair. You can only get it if you’re a junior
rensselaer medal…my teachers nominated me
Oh, and the ACLU i only got recently involved in, actually. It’s short for american civil liberties union. where i live, there’s a kiddie branch, so i go sometimes.
