HYPSM Chances.. If you are also applying you better chance me.. im pretty competitive

This thread is just a nonstop stream of revelations.

Most likely: HYPSM + UChicago.

Sorry Jersey13, if I seemed like an insecure, arrogant poster to you.
Where are you applying?
It only says Where You Want To Be '15.

HYPS/Wharton/Dartmouth + a few others.

Since you are applying to Wharton, quick question…
Is Wharton harder to get in than HYP?

Indications are that it is about the same or just a tad easier. It is certainly a step up in difficulty from the rest of UPenn.

I believe Wharton’s acceptance rate is a little under 10% so it’s selectivity is pretty similar to HYP.

Does Wharton require any business internships,…etc?
Maybe I will apply just for kicks.

No, but showing an interest in business/business economics would be a plus.

Thank you silverturtle, once again.
I was wrong about your gender, as I just realized from checking your previous post.
Or, are you an “it”… lol jk jk

Good luck to all of the posters who have answered my thread.

Please, respect Wharton and do not apply for kicks.

You’re stats are good, yes you had a few b’s which might make you less competative for HYPSM. However, because you had a upward trend in grades that will help, especially since that upward trend happened when you took “hard” classes. At the same time though it’s hard to judge your chances w/out your ec. But based on your sat’s and sat II’s you have a good shot.

I’ve seen many people who don’t list their EC’s publicly. Is there a reason for this?

They want to remain anonymous, and ECs are generally the most revealing aspect of one’s application.

“Yeah your subject title for this makes you come off as a snob.”

I think it was VERY effective! 459 views in less than 24 hours. You know your audience!

Honestly though. I think you are more likely to be rejected by HYPS with a 2400 than, say, a 2350 or possibly a 2320 for that matter. Why? Well, one of bragging rights that these elite universities compete for is the number of 2400s rejected. They will likely scrutinize your application a lot more meticulously, and with your GPA they will find an instant reason to reject you and increase that number.

That is even before we, or the admissions officers, have seen your ECs.

On a different note. Last I heard, Wharton had an admission rate of 5% as claimed by students on the school.

That’s absolutely false.

let me get this straight. you’re planning on taking an entire college course in one month, per month, in addition to schoolwork, ECs, and college app writing, and you won’t need to review for tests you studied for 6+ months prior?

you don’t take that heavy a courseload in college. you’re not going to pull it off in HS.

Indeed, HKToUS is completely incorrect in post #56.
