<p>As the upcoming month will be dedicated to preparing for College, I have one question about the whole F-1 application.</p>
<p>I am French from nationality, but right now I am working in Madrid. It would therefore be much more practical if I could apply to my visa directly from the US Ambassy in Madrid.</p>
<p>Is this possible, or do I have to go back to Paris for some time until I get the visa?</p>

Although visa applicants may apply at any U.S. consular office abroad, it may be more difficult to qualify for the visa outside the country of residence.”</p>
<p>If you live and work in Madrid, I don’t see a reason why you should not apply for a visa in Madrid. If you decide to apply in France, you only need to go there for one day for the interview.</p>

Yes you can apply for your visa in Madrid. The US embassy has something called third country where you can get your visa in another country. However, if your visa is denied in Spain, you can only apply for a new one in France only. Alors bonne chance!</p>
